Schlutup - Check-In
Paper and general cargo loads
- Drivers can reach the truck parking area in front of the gate building via Mecklenburger Strasse. Here there are three entry lanes and an exit lane, with traffic lights and barrier. The truck park is closed with a barrier only after terminal working hours.
- After parking, the driver presents his papers at the gate, where forwarding and other loading data is checked. If these are in order he receives a signal unit and an entry card. These are however not immediately activated for entry to the rest of the port area.
- Where immediate loading is possible, an announcement follows and the driver’s entry card is activated at the same time.
- If immediate loading is not possible, gate personnel will provide the driver with an approximate waiting time.
- Following an announcement, an acoustic signal is activated and at the same time details of the loading point are displayed. The truck can now enter the port.
- After loading has been completed, the driver proceeds to the exit area.
- The driver parks the vehicle in the marked parking area, inside the port area, and reports to the exit gate.
- Gate personnel hand out the loading papers and take back the signal unit.
- Only when the signal unit has been handed back is the entry card activated to permit the exit of the vehicle.
- The now activated entry card is for use only in the card reader installed at the exit barrier, where it is retained. The procedures described here for paper loading differ for the delivery and collection of containers/trailers. In those cases, no signal unit is provided and entry is controlled via repeat visit or visitor pass cards. These cards are programmed differently to control reader authorisation and retention.
