25.03.09 - LĂĽbeck expands intelligent seaport logistics
A port stays abreast of the times: within the framework of the Innovative Seaport Technologies promotional programme ISETEC 11, the LĂĽbecker Hafen-Gesellschaft mbH (LHG) is currently looking at how intelligent control systems can increase the efficiency and performance of the Port of LĂĽbeck.
ISETEC II is the brainchild of Germany’s Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi), which is responsible for transport research. The research emphasis within the programme is on the development of new technologies and logistics concepts, the integration/networking of German seaports and the efficient exploitation of transport modes in hinterland operations.
Since 2008, the LHG has been actively involved in four projects within the ISETEC programme. Each is taking about three years to complete and in two of them the LHG is the leading partner. The individual project partners have now just held an introductory meeting in Lübeck’s Hafenhaus and on the port’s Skandinavienkai with representatives of the TÜV Rheinland, which is acting as project sponsor. The projects and their current status were outlined and discussed.
The LHG is taking part in the following four projects:
Port Operations Centre - the development of innovative IT modules within existing systems to support port-oriented process planning and control.
Aim: to increase handling productivity by means of IT- supported planning and control of operational processes
Project partners:
- LĂĽbecker Hafen-Gesellschaft mbH (lead partner)
- Hafen-Entwicklungsgesellschaft Rostock mbH
